2024 OTB Open Exclusive Discs – Pre-Order Now!

The OTB Open is MVP’s Premier tournament featuring exclusive disc releases – molds and plastics that are otherwise unavailable in stock runs. This year MVP has absolutely killed it with twelve new discs across two waves, and we’ve got them for pre-order at Rare Discs!

Wave One – Mid April

Proton Soft MVP Glitch

MVP Glitch Proton Soft 2024 OTB Open Exclusive Release at Rare Discs Disc Golf Store

The MVP Glitch is a straight flying hybrid catch disc with virtually no fade. In Proton Plastic, there should be increased torque resistance despite the low weight. The stamp features a man with his mind blown – how most people feel when they throw the Glitch for the first time.

Proton Soft Axiom Tempo

Axiom Tempo Proton Soft 2024 OTB Open Exclusive Release at Rare Discs Disc Golf Store

The Axiom Tempo has not seen a standard release yet. Initially featured in the Circuit Challenge series, the Tempo is an overstable approach disc that will help you “get in the zone”. It’s got enough torque resistance to handle forehand and backhand approaches, but is not unthrowable for new players. Featured in Proton Soft plastic, the Tempo should not skip as hard as other OS approach discs that are stiffer.

Prism Proton Axiom Hex

The Hex is MVP’s top selling mid-range, with a straight flight and subtle fade. In Prism Proton plastic, this disc really shines. It’s slightly stiffer, for great grip in warm weather, and has a sparkly colorful rim. Those who haven’t thrown a Hex are missing out. Its slimmer profile makes it comfortable on both Forehand and Backhand throws, and the distance this disc flies is often closer to a fairway driver than a mid.

Proton Soft Axiom Paradox

Axiom Paradox Proton Soft 2024 OTB Open Exclusive Release at Rare Discs Disc Golf Store

The Paradox is a unique disc. It’s so incredibly flippy that a gentle toss can have it flip up and glide for days. It still has a slimmer profile than most other understable discs, giving it a great hand feel that beginners love, and experts can use to carve new lines. Those who cannot forehand finds the paradox can mimic a forehand flight path on a moderate backhand throw. But this disc can also be quite challenging to control as it requires some touch for the perfect flight.

Color Eclipse Streamline Drift

Streamline Color Glow Eclipse 2.0 2024 OTB Open Exclusive Release at Rare Discs Disc Golf Store

This was an unexpected addition to the OTB Lineup – MVP’s first Streamline disc in colour glow. The Drift is a marvellous fairway driver with a decent amount of turn and a subtle fade. The -2 turn should somewhat offset the classic “it’s Eclipse plastic so it’s definitely overstable” thing that MVP has going on, and make this disc a flippy, straight flying fairway driver. The Glacier Skull stamp is pretty neat too.

Eclipse 2.0 MVP Servo

The Eclipse 2.0 Servo is sure to be a winner. It’s the perfect overstable compliment to the Axiom Crave. It’s got that touch more fade that many players are looking for, adding extra torque resistance and bigger s-curves. This disc hasn’t seen a main-line release yet and is sure to disappear fast.

Wave Two – Early May

Prism Proton Trance

Axiom Prism Proton Trance 2024 OTB Open Exclusive Release at Rare Discs Disc Golf Store

The Axiom Trance is yet another disc that has only seen a special edition release. This time it’s back for the OTB Open. This flippy fairway driver is the counterpart to the Crave – slightly higher speed, slightly more turn, and all the big hyzer flip energy. The DJ Ant stamp is super shiny too!

Eclipse 2.0 Orbital

MVP Orbital Eclipse 2.0 2024 OTB Open Exclusive Release at Rare Discs Disc Golf Store

The Orbital is MVP’s super flippy distance driver. This disc is a money roller disc, or a great disc for low power players who like the feel of a wider rim. It’s a hyzer flip monster, and when thrown with moderate power will barely fade out.

Proton Soft Axiom Hex

Axiom Hex Proton Soft 2024 OTB Open Exclusive Release at Rare Discs Disc Golf Store

Another Hex? Well, that just goes to show how popular this disc is. In Proton Soft, the Axiom Hex is an absolute banger. Grippy, slightly flexy and sticking exactly where it’s supposed to go, the Proton Soft Hex is the dream straight flying mid-range.

Eclipse 2.0 Watt

The Watt is another straight flying glidey putter, but this one is available in heavier weights. Finally, the Watt has been released in Eclipse 2.0 Glow plastic adding that touch of extra stability and torque resistance that everyone has been asking for.

Neutron Soft Crave

Axiom Crave Neutron Soft 2024 OTB Open Exclusive Release at Rare Discs Disc Golf Store

The Crave is the ultimate fairway driver. It can fly as far as a distance driver! With the right spin and toss, this disc can fill many roles: throw a hyzer to make it stable. Throw flat to make it glide. Throw an anhyzer to get around a corner. The Crave is truly a master of all the elements, and in Neutron Soft plastic the added grip help it stick in place for those distant, dangerous approaches.

Prism Proton Soft Vanish

Axiom Vanish Prism Proton 2024 OTB Open Exclusive Release at Rare Discs Disc Golf Store

Rounding off the OTB Release is the Prism Proton Soft Vanish! This is a plastic combination new for this year, with the best of Soft Proton and the glittery shiny rim of Prism. The Vanish is another flippy control driver, perfect for tossing with a tailwind or learning rollers. It’s got that slightly wider rim which is comfortable to many players, and is a great stepping stone to true distance drivers.

Conclusion

Well, that’s it. These are the 2024 OTB Open releases! These discs have only been released to shops in super limited quantities. Once they’re sold out, that’s it. Wave One is expected to arrive in Mid April, and Wave Two is expected to drop in Early May. In the meantime, get a pre-order in to guarantee stock. Some releases, like the Tempo, will go super quick
